XPE (chemically/physically cross-linked polyethylene foam sheet) insulation pipes are made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE), combined with a cross-linking agent (DCP) to create a cross-linked structure and an azo-type foaming agent (AC) for effective foaming. This innovative foam plastic integrates advanced polymer chemistry with physical foaming technology, resulting in a closed-cell structure that delivers exceptional thermal insulation, waterproofing, and shock-absorbing properties. Compared to IXPE (electron-beam irradiation cross-linked polyethylene), XPE features a rougher surface and larger bubble cells—but at a lower cost—making it more suitable for large-scale pipe insulation applications.
